I guess I don't mind the topic coming up every once in a while so I can express my distaste, but some other musician message boards have daily jesus threads about church bands and it really starts seeming lame. Bottom line is that if you gig in bars, people are going to leave if you suck. No one will walk out of a church service. Let the religious persecution begin. I vote for one thread a quarter about Praise Teams.

I don't mind the topic

maybe not daily, but the thing is, no matter what the topic, if it's in the G & B forum, then it ought to be about guitars, bass, amps, pedals, something related to the forum.

If it's more generic, then it ought to be in the 'other' forum, or the 'live' forum. I'd even suggest the cave, but most people seem to be unable to restrain themselves to the point that nobody is able to discuss much of anything without those not involved turning it into a gay or political thread, or the same people take it over to go at each others' throats just because.

Well, that Bach guy sure was on the whole Jesus bandwagon, and he could write him up some music. I don't think there are any examples of bands that are on the other side of the spectrum that can compare with that.

But hey, what else did Bach have to do, I mean, if he had been any different he would have gotten a beating and not much work for a demon worshipping musician back in the day. It is kind of ironic that some of the most quoted "evil" sounding music comes from a guy who entitled each piece to God in a different (often dumb) way. Like "to the kindest God of Earth." And then "to the savior of humanity."

Man...life must have been boring back then,...no wonder bach had time to write a bunch of great music.
