I use Digital Performer 4. I feel like a slight retard, but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do this. I need to take whole tracks (various soundbites) and consolidate them, individually, into zeroed out files that I can send away for mixing. And no I don't want to bounce the files, that is not the issue.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks!

first export every track by themselves to a folder after naming them and burn each track to a cd

Yes, but I need to consolidate a track (containing many soundbites in the track) into one file FIRST.

Thank you though,
Tom.

OK.

I'll give it a shot.

What's the difference between 'mixdown', 'consolidation' and 'bouncing'?

The answer --- semantics. In other words, the same process by a different name.

The 'm' word, the 'c' word and the 'b' word all wind up sounding the same, looking the same and having the same function in whatever form or use they will be put to.

If I were to bounce the individual track, then it would bounce with all the automation and effects applied to the given track. I do not want to do that, but to make the whole track an individual soundbite without all that.

So, in fact, they are not the same. I want to take all the silent space, and make it part of the soundbite including the others for the track.
