I'm connecting a pair of powered monitors to a Delta 44 box that has 1/4" outputs. The monitors have both XLR and 1/4". What kind of cables does someone recommend I use, that won't end up damaging the monitors. My main concern is if I need to use cable specifically for speakers or not. Thanks

Since the speakers are powered, you're actually sending a line-level output from the Delta to the speaker, so you definetly don't want speaker cables (those would be for power amp out->unpowered speakers)

I have my Delta 44 outs going into a stereo input on my Mackie 1202 and then I use the main XLR outs on the Mackie to go into the XLR ins on my Tannoy Active Reveals (using an XLR-XLR cable of course).

Been looking into pc stuff though..your manual has a picture?
Here's the M-Audio's Customer Support Team is available 12 hours a day from Monday to Friday, between 7:00AM and 7:00PM Pacific Standard Time at (626) 633-9055. International support numbers can be found on our company contact page.

I called them and the standard 1/4" TRS cables are fine...you can go from the 44 to the actives, you don't need a mixer. Recommend you call yourself though.

Hey thanks. I've had these monitors for about a year and only used them for about a month after I bought them, using 1/4" instrument cable. After playing bass heavy music that I had recorded through them, I believe the woofers blew out because they lost all of there bass response. I have since replaced the woofers and am now ready to try again.

It must have been the bass frequencies in the music itself that did the damage?. I never listened to them incredibly loud and the gain sensitivty on the backs of the monitors was turned down quite a bit. Are studio monitors generally much more sensitive to excess gain levels or poor mixing than home stereo speakers? Also is there anytype of inline filter I can get to choke the signal if it's too hot?
