Hi all.

I think I'm going to skip getting a mixer and instead get a DMP-3 dual channel preamp to run into my 2496. My questions are:

1) What kind of 1/4" ended cable to I need? A standard guitar cable? Some kind of signal cable?

2) Also, the DMP-3 has 1/4" output jacks but the 2496 has RCA inputs. I assume I can use any good quality 1/4" to RCA convertor. Correct?

Thanks.

Dave

To connect the DMP3 output to the 2496 input, you'll be fine using an unbalanced 1/4"-to-RCA cable.

As for the first question you need to be more specific. What are you going into the DMP3 with? A mic or an instrument?

I'll be mic'ing my cab through the DMP-3. I guess I assumed I'd be using a convertor on some cable to go from the preamp to the card and so that's why I asked about cables.

Thanks.

You can get by with a guitar cable and an RCA adapter if that's what you have at the moment, yes.
