I have a trs balanced patch bay and it is now full, I recently purchased a second one not in the same rack a little farther away, how would i patch the 2 patch bays together, through the jacks in the front, or through the rear ? Thanks

A patch bay is just a patch bay. I don't think you would want to patch them together just start patching anew with what ever you have left to patch.

I think. I could be wrong I have 3 patch bay and none of them are patched together you just patch all of your out board gear into the bay and when you want to use any of it patch away.

That would depend entirely on what you are trying to achieve. Are you patching mixer inserts? Aux loops? multi-track inputs or outputs? Mults?

"I just bought a car. Where should I drive it?"

Having your patchbays physically separate sort of defeats the purpose of convenient patching.

thanks guys, I know the distance defeats the purpose, but there no other way right now, racks with some compressors, effects, preamps, etc..inserts, from mixer, sound cars 8 inputs out, etc, rSo I guess its just a question of the length of wire and what kind to use to patch,
appreciate the help,

Time for a bigger rack!

Maybe you can arrange your patchbays to minimize the long patches.

Yup, Thanks a milli, Worse comes to worse ill run only one long patch if need, and regroup everything,
