computer stuff

does anyone recommend any of those computer programs for recording??

like cakewalk or protools, i dont know much about them, want to learn , but want to know which one to learn.
also - if you know where i can get them, i know that they arent cheap too.

I prefer n-track over all the others I have tried(cakewalk, CEP, vegas pro, cubase) because it does everything they do, only easier and much cheaper. Just my opinion;)
 
Yup, n-track is a good one. Though I'm use to Cool Edit Pro, n-track is just fine and you cant beat the price.

It would help if you tell what your needs are. Do you have mics, will you buy recording hardware, What instruments will you record, how fast is your current computer, how much quality are you looking for. Will you mix down to tape or CD?
