what a fuckin suprise, my computer is having problems again holy shit this never happens. well i was re-organizing all the wires behind my rack and in doing so i by accident turned the switch to off on the power strip that has my computer plugged into it. So it restarted it's self and when it came back on everytime i would try to do anything it would go to a blank black screen (almost as if the monitor was turning off) and then it would be were i wanted it to be. But after using it for a while it just turned off and restarted again and instead of going to my desktop it took me to a screen that said something like "windows has been shut down to prevent you from hurting your computer" and then it also said "the video card may be in a infinite loop" and it gave me some reccomendations on what to do but all the reccomendations require me to start the computer and at least get to my desktop so that i can do something. Now the damn thing wont even get me to my desktop.

ANOTHER BROKEN VIDEO CARD... here we go ROUND 2

Sounds like a video card problem.

That'll be $25. I'll take a check :)

Seriously, I don't know what to tell you, sorry.

A) Merely turning the power off and then back on won't "break" a video card.

B) Computers break (like anything else). Deal with it or don't use one.

Try this:

Right click-mouse over My Computer
Properties
Hardware(Tab)
Device Manager(button)
Click [+] next to System devices
right-mouse on CPU to AGP Controller (or whatever your controller is called, mine was SiS AGP)
Update Driver(button)

Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)
Next(button)
Select Don't search. I will choose the driver to install.
Next(button)
Select PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge
Next(button)
Finish(button)
Reboot.

well from the looks of things .. its not looking to good

- i have just plain unplugged the computer and rebooted

- i have taken the piece out rebooted and then put it back in and rebooted

- i have disabled the card rebooted and enabled it

- i have uninstalled the device and rebooted and re-installed

and none of these have solved the problems

Did you try my suggestion?
