Hi. I've just recently purchased my first pair of monitors and got the Wharfedale 8.2's. Is it normal for the computer noise to be pretty loud coming through the speakers? Is there a certain way I should plug in the different devices?

What cables are you using? What soundcard do you have?

Open up the computer's mixer GUI and mute all the inputs to the sound card, one by one until you find the offending device that is leaching sound into your monitors and then address that device's problem.

Cheers! :)

I'm using the pc's internal card which is a SoundMax. I have the monitors plugged into an 1/8 phone via cheap Y cable to the monitros 1/4 jacks. I know that I am eventually going to have to purchase a new soundcard but this computer is new and soundmax seems like it's alright. Can any of this come from the power adapters? I do have about 7 plugs going into one of those surgemaster things.

it may just be a cheep cable issue?

i used to have that problem with a pair of speakers plugged to the headphone out of my computers built in sound card and sorry to say i never did figure it out.
it wasn't that way long before i bought a digi 001 and never had the problem again

sorry, i guess i'm not much help
