Soudcraft site mentions "8 outputs as standard". I took that to mean that I could pass 8 inputs through the mixer, then out the outputs and into the soundcard. Guess i was wrong.

So ... for what i plan to do i require a mixer with 8 busses or more ...right?

So folks : in the light of the latest developments (!), any suggetions for a good, inexpensive 8 bus+ mixer?

With a little expandability in mind I bought an Alesis Studio 32, a 16 channel mixer with a line-out for each channel, plus groups, aux sends and all that.

Got it used in perfect condition for $600. Nice board for the money, I like it a lot. The Studio 24 is an 8 channel version of it for $600 brand new. I'd spend the extra money for the extra channels if I were you, or you'll find yourself very cramped very soon.
