I have posted a number of recordings in the mp3 board, and the main suggestion i get is to use compression on vox......... i am new to recording and i was wondering what is the best compressor.......... also i am on limited budget so if i could get the cost for any suggested compressors, i would appreciate it

Well... I got a Behringer Composer MDX 2200
which is quite a good budget compresser for about $200-250 Canadian... if I remember correctly, I got it down at Steve's Music in Toronto.

A lot of other people recommend this compressor on this BBS.

If you're more interested in software compressors try Timeworks or Waves C1. There are also a number of freebies on the Web

Try browsing around here. There's a few freebies you can download. The Blue line stuff is free and their compressor is useable.http://www.TheDirectXFiles.com/

Great site Track Rat. let me link that here. I found the perfect free graphic EQ there, it looks and works just like a stompbox.

Don't let the man get you down
