Slackmaster2K

Gone
The CD is now officially with "Brad's Friend". Heh. It turns out that the stinkin' thing would NOT display correctly on a macintosh, and I couldn't figure out why (not having a mac doesn't help).

So, Brad had his buddy the mac guru take a look at the CD, and he said that everything *appeared* to be ok, but there is indeed something that the mac doesn't like. And now he's taken it upon himself to try to figure out what could be wrong! Apparently he has some experience with this sort of thing, and admitted that the mac is very particular when it comes to javascript.

This is good news. If he can find the problem then we're all set to launch!

Great news Slack! I'd say screw the mac compatability, but that's just me.

Sounds like your getting close to having it finished. What finished? Joke, whenever it's done as id would say.

My song on the thing sucked.....gonna be the winner of the "worst" award.....poorly recorded, over the top concept of cartoon pacifism........maybe we'll all get lucky and the comp cd won't ever come out and no one will have to listen to my dingleberry concerto with the worst drum sound ever.......no wait...I think I posted it in the mixing clinic years back.....damn....some folks will be hearing it for the second time.....more's the pity.......hit "skip" on yer players.........gibs:(

I heard 'em all on Dragon's boat many moons ago and they all have something to say. This is H/R.com. The talent in the many fields necessary to get an idea translated from "the void" to a digital file finds a wide distribution among the participants, but the final result (A * B * C *....z)/n doesn't vary as widely as any of those individual variables.

Isn't that what this place is all about?

All this extra multimedia crap that someone might've invested huge amounts of time in producing might be pretty cool (I've never auditioned it, just the tunes) but I think the H/R comp CD-II would be well advised to nip this shit in the bud if it means a 3 year turnaround. The sounds are ultimately what we're all producing and comparing.

Any naysayers?

Agreed....but it wasn't the reason it took 3 years. This extra crap cost us about 10-12 months (well it didn't, I did). This whole thing was a big dipshit fest right from the get-go (myself being the dipshit).

The mac compatibility will be scrapped if it cannot be resolved very quickly. A failure on my part, but most people have PC's, and it is fun to play with.

I made a note or two on the CD in regards to the material being dated. Nobody will be under the impression that the recordings are brand new.

I think the extra shit will be cool and I look forward to seeing it. I know that my html crap I sent to Slack had some pictures (that none of you have seen) and extensive notes on my tune's long journey through various machines. I can't wait to read and listen to everyone's story/tunes.

As for a H/R II...I hope we can do that too. I wouldn't mind skipping the extra crap, so long as we have notes in the booklet. I think the Comp is about learning as much as it is about entertainment. At least it is for me.
