*COMP CD ORDER*

With all the potential exposure, just considering statistics and people's natural curiosity, I can't believe any reason for these things not moving other than the fact that nobody knows about it. ...or maybe less people visit here than I/we think.

I zip through here almost every day, knew about the plans, but didn't know about it being ready 'till now- almost a month after it's ready.:o :eek:

Internet and credit cards have really made people lazy. If you don't want it badly enough to get a M.O. and write an envelope....

...it's late, I'm bumming about Entwistle, so I'm drinking - but I'm good for the $20.

I can't believe Slackmaster won't take cash or a personal check (hey, don't send mine 'till the check clears - this isn't about me), so quit bellyachin' about the money order, paypal - and who gives a shit if it's got rap or hiphop.

Guys, your PR on this one sucked. A banner would've been good, too. Only Sonusman's spamming got my attention. And the constant inability to log on has not helped either...goin' to bed now.

Rock on. I'll be in touch before America's Bday.

Why the excuses about not buying one unless it has rap, or you can pay cash, or PayPal, or whatever???

People get A LOT out of this site in terms of solid knowledge and helpful advice.... the least they can do is shell out $20 fuckin' bucks to support the damn place!!!

Crimony.......... in the site you've got the equivalent of MANY recording books worth of knowledge, PLUS some respectable pros on-board too..........!!!

If you don't buy a CD... think about what I just said next time you post a question that you expect to have answered!

I won't take cash to protect YOU. And don't gripe about personal checks unless you want to collect 75 personal checks and keep track of which ones clear, then wire me the money and I'll ship.

There really aren't any guys involved here anymore, just lonely old me. I can't put up banner ads because I'm not dragon, although I did make one and sent it to dragon last week. I didn't feel comfortable spamming...I guess Ed finally got sick of me bitching and took care of business :) You're right though, exposure is the problem at this point.

It took Ed's spam to cause me to come into this Forum for the first time......................so obviously, like others I wasn't aware the CD was available.

I will be checking out how and where to get a MO in $US on Monday morning.................it is Saturday afternoon at the moment. All being well I will order one of these compilations in around 2 days time.............I obviously don't expect you to hold one, BUT PLEASE, if they all go, put up a farkin' great message here ASAP.:D

Ausrock, I'd be perfectly happy to hold a CD. In fact that's how my ordering process works!

You simply need to follow the ordering instructions and give me a date by which I should receive your payment. Let's say you can't get it together next week...maybe the week after, and you're in Australia so the mail will take as many as two weeks to get to me, so simply give me a date of August 1st. That's totally cool. Just don't say January 15th, 2024 or something :) I'll hold your CD until that date, and if I haven't received your payment, then I *may* end up selling your CD to somebody else (you will be refunded of course if your payment does arrive).

So anyways, you send me an email, and I put a hold on a CD! I've shipped at least two of these things to the outback so your location shouldn't pose a problem.

Dude Slackmaster why dont you take the damn cash!!! i don't live in the states and it is a fuckin drag havin to go and spend a whole morning at the bank in a fuckin sweaty line getting a money order.....just don't steal the cash...or accept pay pal!!!! otherwise i'm gonna have to got to the bank and yata yata yata....
 
NOTE: You might try bidpay.com if you really can't get to a grocery store to buy a money order. I think they send out real money orders that you can buy online. Make sure that you send all of your necessary information with the money order though (however that will work...i'll have to know it's coming from you)

I didn't realise there was a CD to purchase nor did I realise there was a funding issue here until ChuckU got my attention in a long running old farts thread that runs in the D. Cave.

I'll check out the International MO situation at my post office today.

$20 for what I've had out of this forum is the best $20 I will ever spend. imho.

But I would like to see a banner running, why doesn't David (Fiedler) want to put one up?

And another thing (I'm going to get flamed to hell for this) but I would be prepared to subscribe to this forum, its so valuable to me. Maybe that would put others off, especially newbies, but maybe subscibing could give greater access to "all areas" or something. Or being able to post in certain forums etc.

Its been a hassle recently to log on and post due to high traffic, if more funding is required to resolve these issues then I for one would be prepared to subscribe. And I'm sure there are others who feel the same way. And before I get flamed, I respect the opinions of those who don't agree. But I learnt a long time ago that not everything that is "free" is best.
 
Ok...I should clear some things up.

1) There may or may not be a funding issue with the site. I dunno. Dragon doesn't talk about it. All I know is that we're donating the money to the BBS because he's paying for it himself...and it can't be that cheap. What else we going to do with it? Send out $10 royalty checks? wooo Will the money from the project get rid of the "too many users" thing? I dunno. Nobody knows what that crap is all about except dragon.

2) Dragon did plan to put up a banner...in fact I made one and sent it to him. However, he's busy and I haven't heard back from him in over a week. Now they're almost all gone thanks to Ed's spam...so that's that. :)

Dragon is a busy guy...he's a quiet guy too...hard to get ahold of....hard to keep a long running dialog with him. However, he's kept this site up since '98, so we can badmouth him all we want, but we're still badmouthing on the free forum he's created for us! (i'm not implying that you're badmouthing...I'm using the term generally)
