*ORDER Homerecording.Comp Volume I NOW!*

Seriously, read this entire message. Take notes if necessary.

What is this Comp CD crap? HomeRecording.Comp Volume One is the first ever Homerecording.Com compilation CD set. The project was started several years ago, and is just FINALLY seeing the light of day! There are 20 songs (all at least 2-3 years old) on two printed CDRs. The CDR's are enhanced with information about the artists, famous BBS threads, and some other interesting junk. The cost of this first volume is $20 + actual shipping costs. All profits will go to the BBS (Dragon). Because this is a very special edition, each CD set is individually numbered. You'll find plenty more information in this forum.

One per person please. There are only a total of 75 of these things. If you're new to the BBS and/or are not sure if you're going to stick around the BBS for a while, then don't order.

If you are a contributor and haven't paid yet, then a CD is being held for you. Please follow the instructions in this email though!

How to order:

1) DO NOT reply to this thread or any other thread saying "I want one."

2) DO NOT send email to any of my private email accounts. Do not click "send email" in my profile. I've found it's been very difficult to keep track of who said what and who wants what when messages are going all over the place. If you send a message to the wrong place I may not respond.

3) DO NOT get all pissed at me if you sent me an email 6 months ago saying that you want one, and now I don't remember it.

4) DO send an email to compcd@homerecording.net , preferably with the subject line "Comp CD Order". If you have general questions about the comp cd you may also send them to this address. (BTW, that old hotmail address I used to use for this thing got cancelled or something...sigh)

5) DO include the following information in your order request:

- Your BBS name
- Your full name
- Your complete shipping address
- Your telephone number
- A date by which I should receive a money order from you for $20 + shipping. I can only hold your CD until the date you specify, which should be within 60 days of today please!
- If you don't specify all of the above information then I can't take your order!

6) DO expect a reply email with my address and a grand total ($20 + shipping USPS to your address). U.S.D. money orders only please. I am not going to wait for checks to clear and if you send cash I'll just steal it.

Thanks to everyone for their patience and support. I know that this has been a frustrating process thus far, but we've all learned a lot I think.

Seriously, if I'm stuck with 50 of these things I'm going to be pissed. :)

A banner ad would be cool.

Dragon?

Maybe all the ones who contributed to the CD could kick in a few $$$ for a banner on the site, advertising... the homerecording.com CD.

Wait a minute.

Strikes me a bit strange. Maybe Dragon could put a banner up or something to help take those 50 coasters off your hands... :)

Or at least one of those announcement thingies that appear at the top of *every* forum. That would get the attention of people who never venture out of a certain forum - plus, it will be on top until it is removed.

I like things that are on top until they are removed.

I'm hoping that Dragon gets his CD today or tomorrow and then gets in touch with me. It will have to be his wish to advertise the CD, this being his site and the CD being for the site.

We'll see!

Brad, do you think I could put an advertisement on your mom's ass? I'm thinking that would really boost exposure. Well, nevermind. I'll just ask her myself later.

(and so the cycle continues)

There's been quite a bit of confusion in the emails I've been getting with order requests. Please see the very last step in the order instructions! I know 6 steps is a lot and all :)

The reason I cannot simply post an address to send money to is:

- I don't really feel like having my address on a public board.
- Only 75 copies of this thing were made. When you send an email requesting a CD, a SPECIFIC CD is held just for you until I receive your payment. There is no way for me to accidentally sell out and leave people hanging. It's also nice to verify your email addresses.

So, you send an email to compcd@homerecording.net, including all of the necessary information from above, and I will REPLY with my address, your shipping total, and a hold date.

For those interested, shipping in the US is usually about $2....overseas we're talking anywhere from $6-10 (usually $6). That cost includes packaging. I only ship USPS First Class within the US, and USPS Airmail outside the US. Those are the best rates I can get.

Thanks all.

i think these guys are more accustomed to 12-step programs......

Got Mine!!!

Got mine, got mine and you didn't. :D :D :D
Talk about a diversified CD! There's a little something for everyone on it. Definitely something not available in stores. I really liked the enhanced CD portion too. Very pro. Just goes to show you what can be done at home.

Get 'em before they're all gone!

Slackmaster 2K,

I have to go out of town for a few days. Can you please let me know privately when you shipped my copy of the Comp-CD.

i lurk alot and post rarely..mostly in spurts..I don't really read the 'special forums' much..mostly the specific forums...i dunno if i'm alone in this...my time is tight so i try to "get in and get out" a few times a day..

so i just read sounsman's post in the mic forum and feel like i'd like to contribute to this BBS.

I'll be ordering today....:)

Hey Slackmaster,

I just placed my order. But like I said, this money order thing is a pain in the ass. With my work schedule it's really tough for me to make it to a bank or post office these days. I pay all my bills electronically.

You'd probably sell many more CD's if you signed up for PayPal.

Barefoot is right, banks are closed by the time I get off work.

After all is said and done, I will have gone to the post office some 30 times. Not to mention put in many hundreds of hours of work. I'm sure people can make it to the post office *once*. :) You can get money orders right at the post office! $0.75! Heck, you can even get money orders at gas stations for $0.50 to $1.00. You guys get gas, right? (pun intended?) :)

The reason paypal is not and will not be accepted is that I am not going to mix up 75 comp cd transactions with the personal finances of my family. I am also not willing to setup a bank account for this project. With money orders I deal strictly with guaranteed cash, and that's the way it's going to be.

I appreciate everybody's support after sonusman went crazy there :) I had nothing to do with that!

Beathoven, there is no rap or hip hop, other than Brad's Wigga G.O.M.M. (which is the funniest shit you'll hear). Some of the music is pretty good, and some of it really sucks (like mine especially). It's all ~3 years old at this point. Get this CD because you like and want to support the BBS...and the CD itself is pretty freakin cool...enhanced shit and the whole 9 yards. If you're not into it, you don't have to buy it....absolutely nothing wrong with that...especially if you don't have any money!
