Hi Luke, the lows all seem a bit scooped to me, so it's resulting in a bit of a thin sounding mix. Did you put a high pass filter on a number of elements to try and make space for the bass and kick?

It's not really my thing stylistically, but the performance all sounds good and nothing playing wise struck me as out of whack :)

I like the song. Catchy and a good arrangement.

As to the mix. The high end attack on those first couple guitar hits is kind of jarring.

Not sure if it's soundcloud or you, but the compression pumps pretty heavily throughout the whole song.

Yeah what the other guys said. Very thin sounding. No power. Sounds like it would be cool jams if you can get it to sound more rich and full.

I noticed that too.

Very 80's vibe. Lots of reverb. Van Halen-ish harmonies - I liked that. Good guitar playing. I didn't think the mix was terribly thin. I thought it was fairly well balanced tonally. Must just be me. The only thing I might suggest is to turn up the bass and kick just a nudge. Maybe two nudges on the kick.

Guitar distortion was a little crackly or static-y. The guitar could use a little more presence IMO.

Thanks, guys. I think comments re coming out thin is valid, and probably due to the fact that I automated the guitars under the vocals a little too much, and undercut the body of the mix. I will probably work on getting a better, less crackly guitar tone, then put a lo-pass filter on them, to reduce the harshness. Anyone know of a good ducking software (I think I saw one that works on 16 tracks at a time, but can't remember the name). I will be coming up with a better mix soon.
