crawdad,
Thanks. For me, it was rewarding to hear the ideas in my head come closer into being with the collab as, it was more than my musician skills could muster alone....

Peace,

Theron.

that's so cool. This tracking by yourself sometimes really hurts the process...eh? I know it does for me. And you wonder why some people feel you have to track the rhythm section all at once to get the best "feel". Theron, that 'reward' you got from the tracks from the other two guys makes it all worth it, in my measly opinion. That [above] reply from you put the biggest smile on my face....that's so cool....

It's getting late here but, that's a good ending to this day. Party on and a good tune.

Axe,
Thanks for giving it a listen. like I mentioned to you before, I like the blues and am tempted to give some of my blues tunes up for slaughter on the board. I just wish I had more guts and talent.

Yes I know that pain. You've sparked a strident challenge to not settle for what I know I can do but, to cut the track I want to hear!! As for the rest of your "unquoted" post.........thanks. A smile is a hard thing to invoke. But, not as hard as a good mix when we've your coveted ears around.
Thanks for your patience and restraint:D

Dang I like this version. It's good that you retracked the vocals - it really paid off. Much stronger all around vocally this time. You didn't sound like you were coughing something up when you did that "Howwww!" thing in the middle.

I loved Guernica's bass part. I thought it kicked butt I loved Emeric's lead too - some serious butt-kicking on that too.

The only thing constructive I could add is that there were a couple of backing vocal parts (just going "whoaaaa..") that seemed kind of soft.

Good job everyone.

Love the groove, it's amazing how all the different parts have worked together so well. Nice backing vox, and the lead vocal has just about the right attitude! I can sort of see where mixmkr was coming from with his first post, but nonetheless very enjoyable. Great stuff!

I liked it! Umm but I have to say I agree with mixmkr a bit-I dont think the bass touched the "C"? chord the whole tune-great bass playing in general-nice guitar solos-I could see what he(emeric) was sayin its hard to play a concise solo over that long a time but he did it admireably-Good vocal track as well...The tune just seems to need a little production value to keep you interested in a 3 chord jam for that long. Oh and the mix sounded pretty darn good to me-everything was clear-I couldn't pick out all the words clearly-but thats the way I like vocals to be. Hmmm hope this didnt sound negative as I really enjoyed the tune-sounds like it would make for a great live jamming tune....

hey 3m,
your original comment on my "scream" made me take a closer listen to the vox track and , along with some pitch flaws, made me recut it. Thanks for the motivation. I've still got pitch issues but, now you aren't subjected to audio representation a jettison lung at the end of the git solo:D

twist,

No offence to Emeric but, I think you need to listen to more Jeff Beck
 :D
Thanks for listening.

jags,

Yes, I hear (as in, hear in the song) what mixmkr is saying and I agree. The comment on the vocal attitude was nice to hear. I tend to forsake pitch and placement of notes for attitude in my singing. Sometimes it works. Thanks for your ear.

Strato,

I hear ya on the "production to keep interest" I'd have liked some B3 organ, a real rhythm guitarist, female backup vox and an arranger that new what he was doing but, I'm damn happy with the serendipity that gave me the bass and lead.;)

Peace out,

Theron.

man this song really"bumps"..right along...groovy....like it ..im listening right now..i love "trying to walk the flawless mile"..that is a great lyrical image..if thats the right word..?....the guitar work is very tasty i need to practice more...lol..i would like to hear this NOT on my computer tho my speakers suck..and honestly i miss alot of the lyrics..damn..but what i heard was great..great great job man

woo-hoo... cool bass and groove... the song is great... the problems are not with mixin IMHO but more in the production/arrangement area just not very tight and thought thru yet all the way... or so it seems... :) which is cool for live jam ...
enjoyed it ... (pa pa pa pa.... kiss my pain away.... :D )
cheers

This is Definately Cool! :)

The instrument sounds and tones blend wonderfully, and the mix seems well balanced where I sit!

The Bass playing is Top Notch

The Guitar solo captures the flavor of the song dead nuts

If you would have said this was a cover of some vintage Fabulous T-Birds I would of fell for it ! (and YES that is a HUGE compliment! )

I am Humbled

jamal buchet,
Thanks for the nice words. Glad you enjoyed the tune. Listen more and you might be able to get the lyrics;) Hope it wasn't a "mix thang" that made them unclear.

A Reel Person, :cool::D

Fed, thanks for the listen. I did think through the arrangment. Perhaps not correctly though. Glad you enjoyed it:)

GT,
Always nice to hear from you. You gonna post one soon? "hint, hint".

jcmm,
The T-birds has a wonderfully full sound and J.V. can play some heartfelt blues when he wants to. Definitely too much of a compliment from you!! I'll take it anyway. Thanks for commenting.

fenderlikingood

i list[ened to the old version and the new collab back to back.......and WOW!!!!!! nothing but improvement.

That was surely nice to hear:)
Thanks dude,

Where The Hell Is Guernica? He has recieved all kinds of warm comments on his bass track. Hope he gets to read them........

Guernica's on a sabbatical but he'll be back soon

Fair enough,

If I see him pop in, I might have to bump the thread so's to bring it to his attention..........forgive me now.....

Oh wait, I'll just tell him via email to do a search....

Thanks to all who listened and commented. I've made tweeks in the mix per comments and gained some confidence in my musical and mixing abilities due to this collab. It has reaped more deep and diverse dues than I hoped.:)

Peace to all and thanks for your benevolent attention.
