Coldplay cover (THE RIGHT LINK)

I'm not particulary a fan of Coldplay, but since I'm learning how to play keyboard/piano, I made a cover of their latest single, which has a lot of piana and keys. I did the guitar, bass, keys, piano and vocals myself. I made the drums on my computer. The quality of the vocals is not great, I'm working on it. If you have a minute please listen and let me know what you think (especially on the mix).

Nice work, man - u've got a good voice.

Where did you find the keys - I'm learning piano myself.

Well, the keys are all midi. I use a Roland PC-180 midi-board, which I bought second hand and very cheap.
I haven't actually bought any vst-instruments, so I use the ones that are free (in which you usually have to dig very deep to come up with a decent sound). The best ones I found so far are mda piano, triangle, jx16.
I you are referring to the piano notes, I just listened to the song and learned them. There are not difficult at all. For the keyboard I used more or less the same notes.

Excellent!

This is phenomenal.... You are perfect with the bass and drums and synths in this song....

Voice is perfect....

HOLY FUCKING SHIT...JAMAL??? IS THAT YOU???

Nice work, 5 stars...rock on...love it.

Just so you know, I didn't really listen for mix stuff...just liked it.

Bass sounds great to me, though.

That voice...dude, if you haven't, you need to listen to this other guy's tunes...

Try "Last Hurrah"

You're channelling him.

I hate to break up this "love-fest", but.......

During the intro, I thought you were on the right track -- I was impressed..... UNTIL the vocal came in.

While your singing's ok from a performance perspective, the vocal track is simply not sitting properly in the mix at all -- I'm guessing it's both mic selection/placement and lack of an appropriate acoustic environment to record in. It's very thin-sounding and since the arrangement is fairly bare-bones, the vocal has to have a much deeper presence to balance out the mix.

A for effort - A+ if you fix the vocals in the mix!
