I like it, I really do. But my head is feeling kind of funny. It did weird things to my ears. Very interesting stuff. I was kinda hoping it would build a little more and add another minute or so.

I like stuff like this. You do it well. It was dreamy/otherworldly but it had a fun kind of vibe to it rather than trying to sound ominous or scary. I agree with B.Sabb about the metronome sounding clicks-I thought it was an mp3 click the first time it happened. This would be a cool between standard rock song interlude for your album.

I like alot of the same stuff as you it seems-big Lips fan-and early Floyd, Syd Barret(Piper at the gates is my fave Floyd by far). Wow Olivia Tremor Control-I was just listening to there cd a few weeks ago-I was living in Athens during there hey-day and saw them live several times-great noise makers and good pop song crafters too.

Just now checking it out on my monitors. I've been listening at work previously.

Nice intergalactic mood going on here.

Was that slowed-down stuff in the intro?

Those little voices in the periphery of the soundscape are like hearing sounds while almost unconscious. You retain the memory of the sound but have no time/place coordinates to plug it into in your life-grid. Adds a nice effect.

I was musing about this effect that certain scenes eventually have upon you when you are thrown through repeats of the same event (or even a very similar event) in different time slots on a frequent or even scheduled basis. For instance you start your car: there is a scene that is in your face when you turn the key that will be mostly in place thousands of times when you give it the twist. You unlock a specific door: reach for a key; look down at the lock; use the key. Does repetitive stress disorder of the brain really exist?

fprod - It just is what it is. I hope your ears are OK!

strato- the clicks are remnants of the original programmed percussion, I'm not sure how they're there still but I should have noticed that. maybe they bled over onto one of the mics through the headphones. Hey - if you like Olivia Tremor Control you should check out the Sunshine Fix, great summer music and solo project of OTC's Bill Doss. Cool stuff.

doc - The intro backdrop in an airsynth patch run through some effects, and no it's not undergone any pitch or time shifts. Some reflective thoughts there. Repetition, repetition, repetition. There's so many of those repetitious circumstances in my life that I don't care to count them all! I think the music I've been working on is, t least to some degree, a product of the waste my brain's "filter" has to find somewhere to output.

 I have committed the Ultimate SIN:rolleyes: Please don't take my milk money  ;)

Don't you sort of run these parts anymore?

When you say cooler than usual, I'm wondering if that means this is OK, it's better than the rest of your crap? :D Like I said, the "metronomey" was a sound beeding in maybe through some headphones on a vocal track or something that shouldn't be there. You know something though, you suck too. There's a few people around these parts that I really anticipate getting responses from when I post something because I feel they understand a bit of where I'm coming from maybe moreso than the average joe around here that doesn't stray too far from the porch when it comes to experimenting. Don't get my wrong though guys, it's usually the more straight forward recording/writing/mixing peeps that give me the solid "too much 2K on the hi hat" advice I need to fine tune the mix, but it's a small handful that get the drift of the experimentation. So when a dude like you gives me a "sounds cool, I can hear click at 1:28" type of response it's a bit of a let down. I appreciate you taking the time at all to listen, but now you know how it feels! :D

nah, it's just like when someone says "this is the best tune I've heard from you so far." I don't think that means I'm saying your other stuff sux, I just liked this one more..

As far as it being a 'letdown' when someone points out a flaw or something they didn't like, welcome to my world.. :D I'm always able to find something I don't like.. If I remember correctly, you usually have at least one negative thing to say about my tunes as well..

Now get rid of that fucking click track! :D

Sorry about that rats..............

I didn't know you put that much work into it.

I meant lazy, and inane as a compliment. Music can convey all feelings and still be good.

We all interpret music differently, and that's good, you wouldn't want me to interpret your music the same way you do, would you?

Anyway I liked it, ya got that, I LIKED IT!!

OK OK!

You got me wrong though. It's not a let down to when someone points out a flaw to me, au contraire! I'm all about details and appreciate when something I've overlooked is obvious and pointed out by a credible listener. It just makes it better for the next guy. The let down was in that was all you had to say about it! I don't know what else I was hoping for, it was only a one minute song. Fuck, you said you liked the song better than the others. I guess sometimes a "why" is nice to hear. :D

I don't think that's likely, for anyone.

I know man I'm just busting balls. You always have some kind of good insight and illustrate different angles on the stuff I've posted than wher I'm accustomed to view from.:)

Weeeee... lookey here... I found the hamsters :) hahahaha.

Sweet. Is that just someone snapping fingers out of time  Love it. J o N A T H N... give me the MIIICROPHONE, general!! :p  ;)

This song is a general reflection of rats' childhood... kind of tells ya where he comes from. Waffle. Buttocks. Random word. Non sequin-tir.

Thanks for the bump, salmon pants!

Do you still want those lyrics?

:D

muze you need to really blast Coca and Howe to get the full effect. Warm and fuzzy. Kind of like a smiling teddy bear hiding a butcher knife behind his back!

Of the bands you mentioned, I totally agree on Beck, Beatles, Lips, Floyd, Godspeed, Apples, Love, Iggy (with the Stooges). I've heard mixed things about OLT. What about SFA? They seem like a perfect fit for you. And don't forget Radiohead.

Only complaint I have is it just wasn't long enough! And NO!!!! Don't even GO THERE!

Good stuff rats.

Super Furry Animals? Yeah they ARE cool from what I've heard of them, although all I have of theirs is a single and a few tunes I've taped off a favorite radio show of mine. Maybe I need to go check them out.

Thanks for the feedback, sluicey, studie and beedeybeedey! Just trying to figger a way to translate this one live. I may just sample the entire thing and use it as an intro. The band is currently working on a psychedelic multi media light show intergrated in and sort of choreographed to fit the set. This one may be a good intro. Now, to find the visuals to associate with it...:)
