Has anyone ever heard of this? Apparently I was having a problem with my MOTU Express XT interface, clock looping was causing all my outputs to glow at the same time even though I only have two modules connected to the ins and outs of 1 and 2, as well as random patch changes and midi notes getting stuck while playing my controller. Strange.

In response to my own inquiry, I was able to correct this problem just a little while ago by muting realtime messages (being sent by either my VMK-88 controller, or my E-MU modules) with clockworks, the software that comes with the MIDI Express XT.

Your best solution when trapped so deep in your own territory is to punt it away and hope for the best. It's been proven time and again that in a big game like this one you rarely make the first down and therefore give the other team a golden opportunity to score a field goal, if not a TD.

Maybe, but why hold back now? There are times in life, my friend, when you have to look beyond the twenty yards and the strong safety playing extra deep in front of you, and say, "Dammit Jim, I can get that ball 93 yards if I have to", and the fire inside you will overcome anything and everything the defense could possibly do to stop your efforts. That's the correct mindset.

Maybe so. And time may prove you correct. But you are banking on being the exception to the tried and true wisdom handed down thru the ages, and that involves an awful lot of plain ol' luck. I can only recommend that you take the safe side --- I know the end reward is not as great, but you will keep yourself out of the 'coulda been a contender' pile, which is not a nice place to be.

Maybe, but do you really wanna be the guy with your head in your hands, on the sweat stained bench, while the other team is hoisting their quarterback up on their shoulders? Not me.

Did you REALLY have to drag Immanuel Kant into this? The concept of 'I' is central to Kant's dogma, and by restating your reluctance to settle for second best you are simply restating the obvious. He was German, you know, and probably never really relaxed enough to truly enjoy himself. If we continue with this football metaphor we may find it difficult to relax too.

When you say 'Not me' are you speaking on behalf of your generation? I know I've overheard a lot of that kind of talk from you people.

When I said "Not me", I was referring to my generation of confused, troubled youth who are struggling to identify themselves in a constantly changing society . But what part do you play in this? Leaving us with no social security in a few decades, a world more tattered and deprived of natural resources than ever before, and for what? For who? When you say, "you people", you have to remember that "you people" is really "all people", a species that is ultimately bound on a path to their own destruction.

By the way, second best is the first loser.:)
