Any ideas? Help? I installed a new MAudio soundcard to record (playback with soundmax through my desktop speakers) I use a Behringer ub802 and an AKG perception 100 mic. I have tried adjusting about every parameter in the Maudio control panel, but no luck. I have a 1yr old Dell dimension that works great for every other application. Recording works ok if I use the original soundmax card.

I don't know anything about any of the gear you have.

But in general, if you are recording digitally and keep getting sharp intermittent clicks, it is usually a clocking problem, at least if you have two or more pieces of digital gear in the chain.

All pieces must run off of the same digital clock, or else the samples get misaligned as the individual clocks drift apart, resulting in the sharp clicks.

If your setup has only one piece of digital gear, then it must be something else. I would call M-Audio tech support and describe your problem. Chances are it is something they have seen before and they will be able to instantly tell you how to eliminate the issue.

What hard drives are you using? And what mothoerboard are you using? I recently had a similar problem with a Delta 44 that ended with me having to switch from SATA to IDE because of the SATA chipset on my motherboard.

Do you have both new and old sound cards installed? Because of IRQ conflicts, I had to disable the old card, and move my Delta1010LT to an acceptable slot before it played OK with all the apps.

Is it a latency problem? Check the sound cards Latency in settings.
