I've mainly been tryig sonic foundry's click and crackle remover plu-in...when I keep teh residual output it captures a clear representation of this pop sound thing that I wont to get rid of, but no matter what I seem to do after I apply teh plug-in the sound is still there...? I think I'm doing something wrong becasue I know it's picking up the sound I wont to get rid of, but it wont get rid of it, I can't figure it out at all!!!!

I've also been trying declicker by steinberg and this program doesn't even seem to have a real-time preview available, sucks!

please help, I've gone threw this enuff before, but I wanna try it again before I completely give up on trying to get these defects out my mix, thanks!!! I look forward to any replies.

I would post this to the Computer Recording and Soundcards area.

Personally, I see two possibilities.

1. monitoring isnt set up right. You are monitoring directly and bypassing the FX.

2. there in reality is no defects in your mix. They are defect which appear to be there because your buffer settings are wrong in your audio software however in actual fact there is no defects in the recorded sound. Burn a CD of yourrough mix and see if the defects come out in the finished CD. If they do you do have defects in the mix, if not then it is the buffer thing.

Just guesses. Repost in the other forum.

ThankS

Aight, I guess i could post their, but this aint a recording at all and I know the sound wont go away from burning teh mix on a cd. It's just a sample, I know exactly were every defect pop is, their alwasy in the exact same places... I've realized this mixing board has the best help for this kind of thing.
So yeah, I'm still puzzled and would like to know

also I've played the sounds back outsied of wavelabs or soundforge with winamp etc, and the pops are still there.

Are these programs only for your own recordings, I've done some good in the same situation but with sonic foundry's noise reduction when I needed noise removed.

Also when, I apply the click/pop remover etc, with the keep residual noise buttom on, it just leaves me a clear representaion of the defect and no music etc, like it should...now I just can't get it to do teh same but just have the sounds and not the pop...???

I'll leave this here a bit longer, I don't like posting the same message in different places too much. thanks again.

If anybody knows what might be wrong, please help.

Also mayby it would help if I knew what "bypass" did/means in this situation?

upper!

Sorry, I gotta be persistent on this one.
I don't wanna have to backtrack through every song I do, or even worse redo them becasue I didn' know how to use this.

Well it sounds unfortunately as if the defects have been recorded to the files. I.e they are not the result of a process occuring in the mix whihc is adding in the defects. This could wel mean you have made a bad setup error in the recording process and you could need to re-record the parts that show this problem.

I suspect that when u recorded you had your buffer settings set wrongly and so your PC/soundcard couldnt keep up with audio prog and hence these defects were recorded.

The pop/click remover prog should remove them. I would check the manual website thorough to make sure you are using it correctly. Failing that post in the Computer Recording forum.

hmm.

Well, again, I never recorded this sample, it's not vocals etc, it's of an old cd, but like I said the program can locate the pop...I just can't get it out the mix. I think I just don't know how to use it right, so can someone tell me what tehy do when they use Steinberg's Declicker, or sonic Foundry's click and crackle remover...
