I think cakewalk and it's files are taking up a lot of space on my hard drive. I want to clean the audio disk to free up disk space. I read the instructions in the help topics, but it says something about being careful not to delete any files I'm using.

Has anyone who has cleaned a cw audio disk had any problems, do you have any suggestions and does it really clear that much space? thanks.

I recommend using the Cakewalk Audio Finder (CWAF), because then you can check which files are in use or and which are not. You'll find it here.

:)

the cake clean audio disk is usually good at not deleting files that are in use but like moskus said ucan get the CWAF to be extra sure

I must admit, I always play a couple of file before I hit Delete All. :)

Never feel totally sure after my harddisk went a little beserk and I deleted 4Gb of audiodata by cleaning my audiodisk (the FAT was destroyed by something unrelated). This was in no way Cakewalks fault, but disastrous is the right word I guess.

With my new backupsystem I never fear anymore though. :)

i don't even do that...i just delete cuz i've never had a bad experience yet *knock on wood

But you never deleted a whole friggin' album worth of songs of course! :)

thanks for the advice guys, I really appreciate it :) Thanks for the link Moskus ;) :) lol Pedullist about deleting an album :) I shouldn't laugh though cause I deleted some stuff once (not with clean audio disk) which is why I made this topic to be sure. thanks again :)

i've been using the 'clean audio disk' feature for a long time, and i never lost any important files. it's perfectly safe.
i did however delete like 5 songs when i was using protools in a friend's studio. screw protools.:D
