Tom...
Guitars in this version over version 1 sound more... intimate... unplugged...
Is it just me... or are those horns in the intro slightly behind?? Sounds like they need nudged forward some...
On "ever hiding (2:15)"... sounds like you're trying to stay in "chest voice"... maybe reaching a bit... I have the same problem sometimes when singing.. trying to feel the voice resonate lower than it should on high notes... the note you're reaching for there should resonate higher on the soft palate. Right now, it kinda sounds like you're yawning
Could work in the context of the song, tho.
This mix does seem to work better... the last version did seem busy... Overall, I did like the guitar sounds better in v1... but that's because there were more of them
The horns are sounding better... tho they sound seriously "behind" in that intro... need lined up better, or something...
Better high-hats definitely needed (no biggie)...
Love that BGV at around 4:25... sounds like it's settled down toward the bottom of the speakers... excellente...
Horns at 4:40ish... very nice. Wicked outro! Needs cymbal crashes! Fill up da spectrum!
