I was doing some research and found 3 candidates: the Behringer Truths B2031A, M-Audio Studiophiles BX 8a Deluxe and Esi nEar08 eXperiences. I have read a lot of positive reviews on all of them but I thought maybe someone could give me a 2nd opinion on which ones to choose. I am looking forward to working with them for a long period of time.

thanks

You don't need a second opinion. What if the 2nd opinion I weigh in with leads you to buy a set that you end up hating ? It would have been my persuasive eloquence that weighed heavilly with you, not any particular knowledge on my part. And even with extensive, exhaustive knowledge, my recommendation might not be what you need.
In my opinion, choosing monitors is a gamble. You've done the research, now roll the dice, get some monitors and get monitoring ! That's the only way you'll even begin to know for sure. Then there's the issue of your listening space............but that, I suspect, is another thread !

what the grimtraveller says ^^^.

Speakers aren't something you 'read' . . . they are something you hear. The reviews will give an indication of their quality and robustness, but in the end, you should see if you can make the opportunity to hear them, then pick the one that you prefer.

That's what I like about you Grim. Thinking outside of the box. I'd of probably said something like "Get these cuz they work for me", then having him hate me because they sound like crap in his space.

You are a wise man. :)

Don't buy the Behringers, They're notorious for having the power amps blow in the speakers

See- I have no fear of that at all :)

but I do agree - you should go listen to monitors, looking at them on the internet isn't really that helpful
