Behringer MIC2200 Ultragain Pro or the Presonus Bluetube...
which one would you get? if not these 2 which one?

Bluetube...

Good quality stereo pre in that price range...I've got one and use it often.

I think there's a Joe Meek (CQV?) model out there which I've heard good stuff about...

Neither -- save your money and pickup a Grace 101.......

Bruce

its not for me its for a friend, the model 101 is what $599, thats to much right now

Bruce does have a point. You usually get what you pay for - but that being said the PBT is not a bad pre for $160. It's not GREAT but it's not bad either. ART has one out there for about the same price as well....

Me? I'll suck it up with my Motu and Blue Tube until I can afford an Avalon. That's 2 or 3 grand so it will be a little while...

the tube mp? it doesn't sound that great... i think he has a apex 420 mic...i know the maudio one is a good one too... i don't want him to get no cheap sounding pre. what about the rolls joint that looks like the tube MP? the guys at guitar center try to sell it to me all the time, what do you think of it

For the price range most of us are looking at, the DMP3 is the best thing out there, hands-down.

Bruce makes a good point in that you should save your money in the meantime for something of higher-quality. A good preamp can make all the difference, and really good ones do not come cheap. But untill then, enjoy your DMP3. It's got a lot of good, clean gain, and it does your microphones justice.

It certainly doesn't do anything to take away from the sound of an already-god microphone, which is all you can really hope for at it's price point.

I've got a lot more to say on this, but I am going to post it, appropriately, over on "the Rack" forum where it belongs. I've got a lot to say on the subject, so I welcome anyone's opinions -- positive or negative.
