Ha Ha, Mutley is not a mod your mods for this forum is Lorddiagram, Dragon, Psycom, gecko zzed, Chili, mshilarious, true-eurt, noisedude. If mutley was a mod I would have been banned a long time ago.

Not the case Rouge. Insulting me a few times and neg repping me wouldn't rate a ban from me. If you believe it would then you can be glad I refused the option.;)

So, our shop manager spent weeks trying to make him happy. But the damn thing just would get those notes in tune. And as I said, the customer wasn't imagining it - the strobe read them as off. Then we tried gluing on a tiny little piece of bone onto the nut to move the contact point about .010"-.020" closer to the 1st fret. And all of a sudden, those notes worked.

I still would have approached it by adjusting the string length at the saddle. I have on occasion when requested done what quite a few makers do as a matter of course and shorten the fingerboard by a very slight amount. Once you'd done that though how did you compensate for the fact that you have then changed the frequency at all the other frets on that string while the two problem notes were closer?

By the way, Muttley and VP, could you guys please start a seperate thread for your pissing contests? Or better yet, VP, why don't you just shut the fuck up? Seriously, every experienced player on the board has recognized you for a poser, and every time you post your disinformation we will make sure to point out to all the less experienced folks that you are an idiot. Why do you even bother?

Tried that. I even got him to take it to the cave but when he got kicked there he just came running back here. So long as he carries doing what he does here I'm going to keep having some fun with him. Sorry about that.

That said, Muttley, could you stop feeding the troll?
Tried that too see the above.

Even after trying that twice a day for two weeks didn't do the trick? Trust me, there is NOTHING which can be done at the saddle we didn't try. But as I said, case by case - one-size most definitely does NOT fit-all. And in the end, it did result in a happy customer and a really nice sounding guitar.

I bother because it is what I believe in.
VP

Ok, fine, but is it really worth it?

Of course, like most trolls, the attacks are, I'm sure, what makes it all worth the effort for you. Sad, really. Is your life that lonely?
