Chinese Ribbon Mic Mods?

Has anyone performed mods to the chinese ribbon mics? Any suggestions or thoughts?

I read in another thread where a guy removed at least one of the screens separating the ribon from the outside world, and it helped the top end... I haven't tried it, I'm just passing on what i read... FWIW

Thanks for the tips, guys. I really appreciate it. BTW Mike. That link you sent me to is very interestng and the mod really makes sense, but having the ribbon so exposed seems a little scary. However, "I gots to know"! Lee.
