Hey all, I'm a composer and recording/mix engineer. I have tons of pieces both electronic and acoustic. You might term them "art" pieces but I try to infuse them with something from every genre of music possible.

Take a listen to this piece. It's titled Kerfluffle. Look up the meaning while you're giving it a listen.

I did... one of the definitions said Kefluffle = "a mistake".

Did you have a question?

I'm not a big fan of electronic music, so not sure if my opinion will be useful to you. This seemed like background music for a science-fiction movie...the outer-space-creatures-looking-for-something-down-a-bunch-of-identical-corridors kind of movie. If I was watching a scary movie (which I don't b/c I'm a wuss) your Kerfluffle song would definitely fit right in. The only part that messed up the scary/creepy vibe was the swishing/scrubbing/clanking sounds around 2:50-3:13ish. Those sounds have sort of a janitorial feel....like someone cleaning a bathroom at the end of one of those long corridors.

No, no question, just sharing some of my music and testing to see if there were others with similar tastes in music.

I've noticed that a lot of people feel uneasy when confronted with sounds in unusual contexts. That said, I was trying to go for a "scifi" feel.

Kerfluffle does mean "a mistake that turns out well", it also can mean a small fight, or an odorless form of flatulence.

That was sort of the point, going along the lines of the 3rd meaning of kerfluffle.

Very interesting soundscape, I definitely feel the 'scifi' vibe. It's also a little bit creepy. I kept wanting it to "kick in" to something, but that's probably more my own expectations due to not listening much to this sort of music, rather than anything "wrong" with the piece. I like it!

:drunk: Cheers! Hooray! I'm very happy for you that (even though this music isn't my sort of "thing") you were able to convey to someone like me what you intended!

I think for now though, I'm gonna leave the reference to flatulence alone :D

IMHO what you're posting isn't actually music.

It's a soundscape and interesting from that point of view.

If it makes you happy, good luck.:D

My definition of music is as follows: the organization of SOUNDS and SILENCES, designed to provoke emotion.

We all have our own experiences that we bring to the table and that affects HOW we perceive music. Music is happening all the time, whether it is organized by man, beast, or machine.

Take a listen to some classic electronic pieces by Varese, Stockhausen, and Pierre Schaeffer.

It's like a long lost Varèse piece: "Kefluffle Electronique" :)

I agree music is just a composition that provokes emotion. Since it provokes emotion it is therefore music...
