Hola' ... If you are going to pronounce my name differen't I would prefer the more traditional "Jesus", (that's 'heysuess' for all of of you white boys ...).
Anyway ...
Blue Bear- That's okay if you do not believe me, I wouldn't expect you to. It doesn't make much sense to leave such a situation as I described for the great unknown does it? Now if I may ask for a little patience please while I give you a little history ...
Well, much to the chagrin of various friends and family, I left a nice secure enviorment for reasons that I have alluded to before. Purchasing a home, having a new car, nice clothes, and plenty of money in your early twenties without anyone's help seems to be as much as one could ask for right? Well, after time, the luster of a fortune, (another song title; one of which is in my current set), fades away. On a "psuedo-intellectual" level, as it were ... hhhmmmm, (clears throat), I could find no real personal value in this. I realized that it was an impression of success from others that I had mistakenly based my future on; upon much consideration, I realized that the "American Dream" was neither fun, nor personally fulfilling in the least. So I made a drastic change. One that cost me dearly in more ways than I can say ... I neither am proud of, or tout these accomplishments to make myself feel good in any way, (you got that geet73?). I merely stated the facts to give some of you a more personal glimpse into my mind-set.
I am not gay, (" ... not that there's anything wrong with that" from TV's Sienfeld). But if I were, I don't think that I would prefer a drama queen, thanks.
dcwave- Not only do I wait and hope for the unknown to show itself during performances, I thrive on the idea of an uncontrollable outcome. I welcome all to come and speak with me directly before, or after a show. If you think you wan't to start shit with me, you better pack a lunch though; because even if you happen to defeat me, I promise you that you will not leave without injury.
mshilarious- It's just me and an acoustic for now. No hype. No bullshit. I hope to be doing a full-blown electric type situation as soon as possible though ...
Cloneboy- If your abilities are on par with your attempts at describing and insulting me, then in the least, I would call your talent suspect. Even if you are better than me; great. I never said or implied that I was, or believed in, any such thing as "the best". More power to you and your supposed talent ...
In reference to my equipment and sound quality ...
Truth be told; my sound quality, in my opinion, ranges from deplorable to barely acceptable. Try raising four kids and making a choice between equipment versus the needs for your children, and you may discover an inkling of the dilema's that I have faced. While comfortable, I never said that I was well off. And once again, the passing of time and/or opportunities being of great concern to me, (as with sometimes in war), concessions at times must be made. Am I happy with that? A sad, truthful and resounding NO. You may actually be sympathetic, (or not), to know that I do not have studio monitor's, or a home stereo to judge mixes on; but rather a broken set of headphones with one channel working. Also, I am afraid that the practice P.A system that I own is not much help either in the determination of both track levels or sound frequencies. This is no excuse; just my situation. I have had to "guess" about my mixes until I have heard them going through such systems as local radio, or bullshit car stereo's. I have to cover the expenses from all instruments to everything else, so as you well know, it can add up fast. On top of that, I have also had to purchase what I needed for a live performance. Now what kind of father would I be if I chose equipment over my kid's need's? Not a very good one I am afraid. Such a sad story, huh? No fuck that ...; that would be weak. It is my place for now, and I have accepted it. I am currently trying to remedy the situation though, believe me. Soon, very soon, I hope to get some more equipment; but school just started a while ago, and well, there is no such thing as a "free public education", so time will tell what will happen ...
Don't judge my engineering abilities quite yet; the biggest test for me has yet to come ...
dantell- I HAVE played for no one before; and I have been humbled many times in life ... This is a good thing for all performers to experience. That is why I appreciate every single person's attention that I can get. It is also why I think that every performance is a special one, as you never know who or what may be watching ...
The legend has spoken.
A moment of silence and reflection is encouraged ...
