Seeker- Thank you for your insight. I will take what you said into account. Yes, that is a bass; it is an
Ibanez 5 string. I really do appreciate your time and attention. Oh, and why can't I have some fun too? I think the "legend" comments have tended to lighten the mood a little ... And besides; who else can even come close to my newly-achieved status on this site?
Cloneboy- I started playing drums when I was fourteen, so I am coming up on the twenty year mark. Let me tell you one thing my friend; just because you give lessons doesn't mean a damn thing really. I have jammed with some supposed "music instructors" that were terrible and that had, so they said, "years of experience". I have also jammed with those that have never had a lesseon in their life, that were incredible; so who cares?. I hate to burst your bubble but anyone can repeat something that has already been done and played into the ground. Like I said before, music is a lot like acrobatics; if you repeat the same thing over and over again, eventually you will get good at it. Mabye you are a good player, who knows? But as your name suggest's, I think that you need to take some time and learn to create something that is your own, instead of copying something that someone else did many times before you. I guess we may never know who the the better player is, but I can guarantee one thing; most of the time that old saying is definately true; "those that can't- teach".
Blue Bear- I have had about 50 people working under my supervision at any given time for almost ten years as a distribution manager for a major catalog company; (where my duties were including, but not limited to; hiring, firing, budgeting, public relations, and market analysis). So yes, I do have some "real-world" business and administrative experience I would say. And who are you writing up that literature for that you mentioned earlier? To yourself? To your one partner or boss? What a big business man you are! You need to take some business classes or sign up for some seminars, because you are in serious need of a paradigm shift in regards to the way you relate with the public. Keep up the good work!
Boingoman- What you say is true actually in most cases, I can't deny that; but not in this one. Unless there is some big-time exposure possible, I wouldn't do anything for free nowadays. Do not discount other songwriter's that you feel superior to either, for they may be tomorrow's biggest stars ... And like I also said before; every new set of ears is of worth. Do not discount the potential impact of those who may be sitting and watching from the darkness ...
There are those that are out there that are not as they seem ...
The truth has been spoken.
