ok cool how big should they be, would these be good? and against the wall where the desk is where should i put them, since i cant use the mirror there?
 
Bigger the better. Best would be to straddle the corners from floor to ceiling. First reflection points will be almost directly above you on ceiling, side wall points just in front of your chair on either side.
 
cool.. so i was doing some reading and i finally realize the true purpose of fixing a room, i was doing it mainly for vocals but now i get that the only sound you want to hear from is the moniters correct, and if your room is bad, low sounds will be bouncing all over making it appear more low than actually is, so when i hear it in my room, its boomy enough but when i play it somewhere else it would prob have like little low end right?
 
That is a reasonable summary yes. :D Frequencies can also cancel each other out in an untreated room. In other words, complete lack of faith in what you are hearing.
 
You can pretty well tell a product is good by looking at the specs and performance data. You can find a list of bunk producers of these type of things here. JH is pretty anal about calling out bull**** sellers of acoustic treatment.
