looking for opinions on my cover of "creep" at www.myspace.com/comfortinyesterday

i think i overcompressed the final mixdown, i had this one drum hit i didnt catch during mixing and after i bounced down to 2 track it jumped way out of the mix, i tried some compression and it took the spike down but its sortof noticable in the mix so i think i'll go back and fix it in mixing stage and see if i can get it sounding better.

Hope I got the right tune - "ode to radiohead"?? Not a radiohead listener so nothing to compare it to...I like the mix - the compression is audible but I think it keeps it nicely even throughout....good performance by all on the tune. Bass is really low frequency (nice)- sounds like a finger player....Bit of noise and junk at the end that you could clip off....

yeah ,thats the right one. i played all of the instruments, my band fell apart. actually, the drums were programmed in fruity loops studio version, the bass was played with a soft pick, i guess thats what made it soft and low. thanks for listening and it makes me happy that you liked it.

Yeah I could tell that was a fruity loops jobby right away from the cymbals. That's the weakest link on the FL drum kit samples. If you could turn them down a bit, and try to vary the velocity a bit it might help. It sounds really fake when the hi-hat is exactly the same on every hit. Good job on sequencing other than that, though.

The vocals are pretty rough. Kinda warbly and off key in a lot of spots. You could use some work there. Sounds like you're pretty new to it. Not a bad job overall.

yeah, i'm not a great singer, i just shoot for it hit or miss most of the time, my voice is unpredictable.

Yeah, musically I think it sounds pretty good, the vocals...go take some lessons or get another singer...I don't think there was a note sung in-pitch the entire song. (Not trying to be rude, just honest).

yeah, there were some good notes in there, just not very many. ohh well,

ha. im not fan of the drums. but i understand. work with what you got. im in the same boat. vocals - dont worry, there's potential, but it sounds like your holding back your true voice. your no thom yorke, but, more practice you could hit it. the guitar sounded pretty well, as did the vox (quality wise), cant deal with the drums though.

keep it up.

haha, yeah, sorry, i have no way of recording real drums in my apartment, soon though. yeah, i keep telling myself to practice singing more, i think my biggest problem is that i havent found my voice yet, if that makes any sense. i can sing different ways, i just dont know which way is closest to my natural voice.
