Stand Up Comity
Hi.

This is my first "release" from my home studio, a sad song called "Home Alone". Please tell me what you think.

Thanks a heap,

apl

Streaming would be nice..... I have high-speed and it was still going to be a 15 minute download......

Strange

That's strange, Bear.

It's about 5.7 Meg. When I start it here, it starts playing in the Windows Media Player after it's about 5% loaded, in less than 30 seconds, and it's loading faster than it's playing.

Sorry 'bout that.

The mix sounds pretty good.
The guitars are a bit muffled, and need to be brought up a bit.
The song itself is a bit slow, as i think speeding up the tempo a bit may make it a more lively.
The lyrics are cool, and they come thru fine.
The vocals....ok....but needs more passion...excitement...energy.

As a "newbie" myself, this is just my humble opinion.

Thanks!

1. When I was laying the guitars down, I was muffling with the heel of my right hand, which sounded OK, when that was all I heard. Maybe this translates poorly when everything else is added. If I redo it, I'll try just playing the guitars open.

2. Yeah, but it's so sad! I should run it through something to speed it up to see how it affects the feel.

3. Thanks a heap!

4. I know. The more I listen to it, the worse they get. If I work on it again, I'll redo them for sure.

Thanks, cramer!

Whew, that's one sad song. You almost had me in tears. Nice tune though. I had to turn my speakers almost all the way up to hear it loud. Over all sounds good. The guitar soloing sounds good just the right amount of distortion. The guitar solo sounds a bit muffled but maybe it's the effect you wanted.

Hey I know the feeling when my wife and kids are gone for too long. I saved it to my hard drive so I can listen to it again and again.

Thanks for the song.

Ps. I thought the tempo was a bit slow but hey it's a sad song isn't it.

Have any more songs???

:) Not yet! I've got a few I'm still composing. I'm flattered that you'd ask.

Ah well, I know I good song writer when I hear one. The voice isn't bad either. Reminds me a little of Niel Y. only better.

Neil Young, LOL

Thanks again. I'm blushing. I did a scratch vocal that was way more Neil, not intentionally!

I know Neil is a great song writer but his voice I just can't stomache. On the other hand I'm a big Dylan fan, alot of people can't stand the way he sings. Go figure.

Remember when you write and perform a song there will always be some who love it and others who hate it, that's just the way it is. You can't please everybody.

We've been watching the Beatles anthology videos. They came close! Now that I'm old enough to appreciate what they did, baby, I'm amazed.

At once, inspiring and intimidating to the inner musician/songwriter/artist.

It was kinda funny listening to George and Ringo talk about the woes of trying to be songwriters in the same band as Lennon/McCartney.

Oops...

This happened yesterday morning, too. Our server people must be doing some work on the system. I'll post when it's up again.

So sorry.

Yes the Beatles Anthology is a must see. I remember getting the Beatle fever after watching it which lasted a couple of months.

You got to hand it to George though he wrote some great songs. He may not of written as many but the ones he did write held their own against John and Paul. C'mon "Here Comes The Sun"
"Something" to name a couple great, great songs.

Have you seen " Let It Be"? I ordered it online. My memory is a little fuzzy on it now but it's worth checkin out. There is a scene where George and Ringo are working out the tune Yellow Submarine I believe on the piano. Paul straggles in and say's "Oh what's that" or something. Classic stuff.

I think Sinatra said "Something" was his fave Lennon/McCartney song. That's gotta bite.

Have you seen Back in the USA, the Paul 2002 tour video? He does "Something" in memory of George on a ukelele!
