Bring Back Transfat!
I've got this Yamaha PS-270 (yup, built-in speakers).

I just got a C-Port soundcard and the breakout box has midi in and out as does the Yamaha.
What does this allow me to do?

Can I use this thing as a midi controller with sample software, or does it just mean I can record it's sounds direct in?

What are the possibilities?

If I didn't know any better, I'd think that Sonusman was at it again. :p

Grip, you should know better than to think you'll get the sounds from your Yammy outta the midi port.

You can use the PS-270 as a controller if it has a "MIDI Out" port and it can also be controlled if it has a "MIDI In" port.

Did I help ya?

Should have been a newbie question but I see you have a 1000 posts.
As Krakit said you can use this keyboard as a controller. I have the yamahaPSR 420 and thats all I use it for as the built in sounds are ok but not to my standards. I use software synths such as bass, drums, keys, effects and more. It works great for this purpose.
