cheap wall warts

Yeah I been drinkin, SO!?
Where do you get cheap 9v wall warts? I'm about to add my third pedal, still not enough to justify something like this, especially since I don't plan to add more, maybe just swap some out. So, one more wall wart for now.

I've had good luck with the universal adapters-there is usually adapters for correcting the polarity and the size of the power jack on the effect pedal. A well regulated wal-wart will keep the excess noise level low. Just be sure to have plenty of current, 500 to 1000 mA would be good, that should power a single effect just fine.

Don't know what pedals you're using, but one of those might work for ya. Otherwise, maybe head to Radio Shack.

The Visual Sound 1-Spot and the Godlyke are both excellent. Visual Sound has another 1-Spot that has only enough leads to connect 4 pedals and is only $19.95. You can buy more leads later if you add more pedals.

Check at thrift stores (Goodwill, Salvation Army etc) most of them have a bin full of them for less than a buck each. Just be sure to get the right voltage and mas. 9 volt-500ma are pretty common and work with most pedals.

You could easily make something similar too, I've spliced power supplies in the past to run multiple devices.. As long as the PS can deliver enough current for all devices, no problem.. AND as long as they're all AC or DC.. All my digitech pedals run off 9v AC, it was a bitch finding a replacement..
 
Yeah, thrift stores. They ALWAYS have a huge supply. I'd bring in a small battery tester, multi-meter or even a 12-volt light bulb to do a quick test before I bought.

And, I see 'em at garage sales often. I never pay over 50 cents for one at a garage sale.

I just made my own pedal board, and am running three devices (Ibenez TS-7, stompbox tuner and Dunlop Wah) off one 'wart. Haven't given it a hard drive yet, we shall see if it works.
