Well, here is one issue Mr. Slator and I agree on. A tube does not sound any better than a FET, or vice Versa. The difference is the design principle, so now that this has been established, I will answer mikedaul's question.
The B Series is a more neutral sounding mic. Less hype in the 8K range, but still very warm and airy as a result of the tube, with good low frequency proximity. While the TB1 is excellent for vocals, it excels for all kins of instruments as well as a result of its neutral sound, or non coloration.
The V69ME is a good mic, a bit dark sounding by design and hyped in the 8K range intentionally, but this makes for good vocals, but not very good for instruments. Pretty much like our C1, but our C1 is not a dark mic.
So, while I am sure you are tired of hearing...do you like Vanilla or Chocolate, the reality is, the TB1 will be more versitle for you. This is "My Opinion" and take it for what its worth because I own Studio Projects, but either mic will work for you.
It always comes down to what your ears like. Listening to CD's in your room does not tell you how that same mic will perform for you in your room, or if you even have the same mic amp. You can get an idea out of a CD, but that idea is recorded in a perfect enviorment, and with all due respect, your room is probably not perfect. So get an idea, but listen to the mic in your room.
