any ideas on a cheap compressor for my drums??? two behringer overheads (C-2) sm57 on snare and NADY dm80 on kick, just looking for somthing cheap so my band can do some nice demos

DBX makes a 1046(4 channel) thats not too bad. I have 2 DBX 1066s(2 channel w/ gates) that Ive used on my drums before. Just got to get used to the settings to keep them from pumping and squashing too much (youll know it when you hear it). Even 2 266s(2 channel) might work for you (Ive never used them though).

honestly, that behringer 4 channel would do fine to clip the top off & gate it. Before I got better comps, that's what I used, and the differences are minimal for demo work. It does not have attack & release, tho, so keep that in mind.

i rarely compress the overheads so i'd think a 2 channel would do. i highly recommend the original behringer composer for this. 2100 i think is the number. anywhere from 40-80 bucks used.
