hi folks. i use the yamaha aw4416.(i know ,i know.wrong forum!)
i learned how to chain the pre amps on it tonight and i thought that some of you folks that use roland and fostex daws may be able to do the same with yer units.this is a very handy trick if you need to mic a guitar cab at low volume,or you just cant get a hot enough signal out of a mic.
plug yer mic into xlr input #1.plug a patch cord into the insert i/o
of channel #1 and plug the other end into the input of channel
#2.select channel 2 as the input source.use trim pot one and two
to adjust input levels.select track #2 as the signal destination.
hope this is helpful to those of you w/o external pres.
