hey people!

our band is just thinking of making some little (3-4 song) demo's to toss out to people at a show, and obviously don't want to spend a shit load on these at this stage.

does anyone know of a place that'll do it for dirt cheap?

anyone try guitar center?

what are the pitfalls here? poor data copy on these cheapies? what's wrong with going REALLY cheap?

thanks!
Tait

Are you talking about Disk Faktory?

If so, I've used them and have been happy with the results. If you're going for 1000+ copies though, there are better/cheaper options.

I've used Disk Faktory twice now. Very nice people when I called them on the phone. Quick service. Decent product. Only problem I've had is the CD's don't play on all older machines(pre 1998) Can't say that a hard rule but I found this a few occations. What I found I really liked about Disk Faktory was you can create all the disc graphics right on line.
Good luck

Would you like to elaborate? Better suggestions? And are these places replicated or duped?

Thanks. :)

For 1000+, it will be cheaper to go with a replication company. You should be able to do 1000 discs for under $500. Plus packaging, of course.

Probably Duplicated, I've heard duplicated CDs don't always play on all hifi systems (like mine for example!).

Replicated CDs from a glass master should play on all hifis as this is the process the professionals use.

Oh, BTW Robert, if it's something just to literaly toss out to the audience at gigs why not consider having a CDaudio 'business card' produced? I don't know about the price but it would look cool for your promotional purposes.

I'm just wrapping up my first project with them. We needed a 100 reprints off our first CD to hold us over until the next CD is finished. Glenn is their sound engineer guy and he was great to work with. I'm local to their location and got to go in actually sit down with him a bit. I'll be getting my disks tomorrow.

For over 1000, I think you can't beat Oasis. They do good work and setup a number of online selling options. We sold about 100 from Amazon.com, etc. that way on our first album.
