I bought a cd burner for my computer. Can I download music from Napster to the cd directly? If so how do I go about it.
I have made copies from one cd to another but my daughter wants to make her own from the web site. Any help will be most appreciated. Thanks.

No, you have to download the files and have them on your hard drive first.

Also, what kind of CD are you talking about here? An ordinary audio CD that will play in a boombox or a home stereo CD player? Or a data CD that you can play off your computer alone? For the former, you'll need to convert the MP3s to WAV files before burning an audio CD.

Most newer cd burning programs can burn directly from mp3s to an audio cd, without the added step of converting to wav first...I use Nero, which is available at http://www.ahead.de ...I've also used CDRWIN, which can do the same thing, but isn't as 'user friendly' (IMO)...I think you can download that at http://www.goldenhawk.com ...Hope this helps some.

If your Cd burner has Adaptec Software or a Listed Software You can download Microsoft's New Media Player it burns mp3 to cd. You Will eventually need it anyways beings that music formats are changing slowly over to the wma format. I don't know if it is a higher quality or not but most burners don't support wma format at this time. Hey its FREE and works. Happy Burnin
