Hello Everyone.

I was looking at getting an Electric Piano so I can learn to play the piano; and to use as a MIDI insrument for adding string, drums and piano to.

Anyone used it before? I have a budget of around £500 if anyone has any other recommendations.

Many Thanks
Aled

Hi there

I'm kind of in the same boat, I'm looking for my girlfriend's daughter, but the budget is even tighter (under £250 she said).

I have found the PX120 for £350 and this would be perfect as it's light and easy to pop under the bed when not being used.

You should also look at the Chase PDP 220 and CDP 8800, which are both under £350 and look good, but they seem a bit big for my requirements. Thomann have the cheapest of all hammer action piano's, with their SP5100 at only £290 and SP5500 at £333.

I'm trying to find out if the SP5100 is built to last and feels like a real piano. The sound is less important and as long as it resembles a piano, that's all that is needed for learning to play. One can upgrade as one gets better and more demanding.

I have an old Yamaha PF85 which feels great.
