Carvin amps . . .

I have been using Carvin products since 81' and I have got to say, they are very impresive. The Holdsworth Fatboy model I bought last November is hands down the finest player I've owned. I've also had two guitar tube amps and a Cyclops bass amp which were equally impresive. For the money, you'd be hard pressed to find equal quality.

Yeah, I recently sold a Carvin power amp that I bought in '82 that had been used in my living room stereo, as a headphone amp, to drive house cabs and monitors and both at the same time, as a monitor driver in my studio...it was in the shop once, when an internal wire came adrift and shorted out one speaker output. The tech didn't even charge me to fix it. Did I mention it sounded great? It went when I sold off my PA last month...but I've got a Carvin DCM1000 amp driving my playbacks [Carvin SRS 6.5s] in my studio...and I'm sitting here looking at my '00 LB20 bass, solid mahogany, wonderful recording tone, under $700 w case & shipping 3-1/2 years ago.

Carvin gear gets a lot of flack from people who think being "cool" is owning the same gear everyone else does.

Very true.

I own a Carvin 212 Bel Air ... just sold a Vintage16 cause I didn't use it anymore after getting the Bel Air. The Bel Air a great sounding amp,but it's not for everyone. If your into metal, it's not your amp. If your into SRV blues, it'll knock your socks off. It also has a very nice clean sound for acoustic work.

About six months ago, I bought a Carvin C980 jumbo acoustic/electric ... one of Carvin's Cobalt series made in Korea. I read an old article in GP ( Oct 03) and decided if I didn't like it, I could return it. Holy Shit ... I couldn't put the damn thing down. I haven't played my D28 half as much since. The electronics package on the C980 is second to none. Anyone looking for an acoustic/electric under $1000 should consider this guitar. It blows everything else I tried away.

Carvin gear may not be considered "cool", but it's quality and most of it is made in USA ... except the Cobalt acoustic line.

carvin rules. All of their stuff is awsome, no matter what.

(hey, they got steve vai to endorse an entire amp series)

I want to hear a Legacy. I love my 5150... but I'm curious to hear any Carvin.

The guitars look nice. I don't know how they play.

I own a Carvin Power Amp, and nothing seems to be more transparent than this unit. I haver heard Peavey and other enamed brands... and believe me none of them beat this Carvin amp.

I'm heading to buy a Belair 2x12 guitar amp... only if it sounds much better than a Fender Hot Rod Deville...:p

Boatload o' Carvin

I've got a DC135, a bolt bass, a six channel powered mixer, their little 10" 100W bass amp, and some mics, all bought within the last 5 years. All are excellent. Everyone who touches/hears them is blown away.

EXCEPT for the mics. I was asking them about it, and they said they can't make their own mics because their neighborhood isn't quite enough so they relabel NADYs! I wish I'd've knwn...

I recently inherited (sort of) an 83 or 84 Carvin X30. All tube, 30W, 12" Celestion. I like it. A lot.
