Hi all,

I have a deadline tomorrow so I quickly recorded this one...unfortunately my voice isn't 100% at the moment but I had to get it done in some form or another, perhaps I'll come back to it when I can sing properly again. All comments welcome!

Cool song. I like it. I'm really digging countryish sort of stuff right now. Your voice sounds pretty good to me.

Doubled vocals aren't my taste.

I can't hear the kick, so the bottom end is kinda missing to my ears. Snare sounds alright to me. HH are kinda loud compared to the rest, they're about the same level as the snare. And the HH are a little boxy.

Bass sounds great for this kind of music. As I almost always say, I'd get it a little punchier if I could, or maybe it just needs to come up a bit in the mix.

The L guitar doesn't seem as loud as the R guitar, so the song is kinda leaning the the R.

I'd focus on getting that kick in the mix, and getting the guitars to compliment eachother.

This is a nice song I like the overall sound, very old school. Did you mix this with headphones?

Cool tune. It remends me of Elliot Smith. The bottom end sounds a little weak. Kind of scooped in the low mids. It's just a bit loose too. Did you play all the parts yourself?

Cool Tune. At first I thought it was going to have a spaghetti western feel until the vocal kicked in and then it kind of changed direction.

Thanks for the comments guys, especially the Elliott Smith reference..it was influenced mostly by him and noones picked up on it before!

I've re mixed it, with more bass (though still possibly not enough). I'd initially taken quite a lot off in fear of it sounding muddy. I mixed it mainly with headphones this time round, last time I relied on my not too honest speakers I think. As for it sounding loose, I was in quite a rush to get it done - I was trying to get the electric guitar to sound kind of spontaneous but if/when I re-record it I agree that it could be tightened up. (I'm not playing drums by the way).

I dont know, I kinda like the first mix better? Lol..it never ends right?

I Just like how all the sounds fit sonically with the style of music, if that makes sense.

Kinda reminded of old country meets oasis, which of course means with a dash of the beatles?

The only thing I didnt care for was the crash cymbal, but im a drummer and my wife says im an idiot sometimes so you probably shouldnt worry about it!
Overall I like the song.
