vegas 3.0, and acid 4.0 are both giving me this error saying an unsupported media type was requested. the details box reads:

The playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper does not support the current output format.
The playback device Microsoft Sound Mapper could not be opened.

when i switch to my lynx one card it says the same about it.

Does your soundcards support 96K? I know mine don't.

I ran into this with my Delta 1010. The driver they initially gave me only supported 24/96 in ASIO and Vegas doesn't support ASIO drivers. So the WDM driver didn't support 24/96 recording. Upon getting the latest and greatest driver from their website, the capability finally appeared.

cool

i'll try that. i have the lynx one audio card. it doe support 24/96. i'll try and download any newer drivers they may have and see if that works.

DONT use microsoft sound mapper!!!
Go to options, audio preferences and pick something sensible.

pipeline audio

i tried my lynxone instead of the soundmapper
and it still told me the card did not support it.

maudio 2496 soundcard question

i'm replying to an old post but i was wondering if you ever got acid 4.0 to support the 24 bit @96khz. cause i'm getting the same error it won't let me go higher than 44.1. also do you know if acid automatically will convert 24 to 16 bit when burning a cd without any problems or will i need to send to sound forge for dither. I've tried burning one track that was recorded in 24 and there were no errors during the burning/conversion to 16 bit but i thought it might be different with 40 tracks ya' know.
