You read my mind I just bought a fostex mr8 battery powered 8track it is brilliant quality but I still wouldn't mind using the mobile as effects unit for the guitar and then into the fostex by the time I get this working I could've bought an Apple Mac, pro tools and a presonus top of the range digital mixer thanks for your message.

I have decided I am going into shop where I can test the their mobiles with my interface and guitar and see which one or ones work.

I have asked someone on YouTube what mobile they used and it is a Samsung A22 so I will get one. thanks for all your inputs

Wow, buying a phone so you can carry around an interface just to record guitar and vocal seems REALLY crazy. As Dave suggested, a DR-40 or Zoom h4 or H6 can be had for $200 or less, is self contained (no interfaces needed), and will record in multi track mode. When I used to travel for work, I had my H4n in a little case. It had the power supply, and earbuds. In a pinch, I could put my H4n in my guitar case with a cord and earbuds.

The Fostex seems really dated, and using FAT16 for storage is a limiting factor. Most current recorders use FAT32 and SD cards which are much cheaper and have larger capacities. I only have two things that still use a CF card, a camera and a VERY old RCA mp3 player that was replaced by a cheap MP3 player for about $15. Both sit in a drawer now.

While phones do a lot of stuff great, I can't seeing using one as a "studio recorder". There are much better options.

Good luck with that! In my experience computer and phone "people" tend to know FA about music recording!

But I wish you well. And, that Fostex isn't quite the thing I meant >>https://www.bax-shop.co.uk/field-re...VFC1QmYIfkNJglxacI93ykcq7oYSDxHhoCbVYQAvD_BwE

I won't be taking the fostex now I will just use the mobile and Alesis guitar link not need the fostex but I do love it and if I want I can use sd to cf adaptor not that I can see any point.
The mobile has an advantage over let's call portastudios as a generic term ,the super large LCD,graphic waveform viewing, virtual instruments, more extensive effects, sampler, drum machine, but the screen is the main thing that I love. The fostex will now just be used with my Yamaha aw16g via mtc.My mobile has defects so I need a new mobile anyway.

I used to have a block with mobiles and music till I tried bandlab and it is a 16 track studio in your pocket.

You can even hum a tune into it and it will play convert it into the virtual instruments of your choice

And so the world runs down into an ever increasingly deep pit of mediocrity.

Sorry, cynical old fart here.

Dave.

The problem was the phonograph cylinder wouldn't fit in my pocket but boy did I try..
Heh! it is not the march of technology that saddens me friend but the seeming desertion from skill and talent?
I have fond memories of the hours of work my son put in on guitar, learning every Beatles, Quo, AC DC etc chord and solo. At 50+ he still says 4 hours work on classical guitar is just a "warm up".

But don't mind me I shall not bother thee for very much longer I dare say!

Dave.

If you require USB OTG, then it's not going to work. Does the interface need USB OTG?
