Can't load a new pro tools session

Alright so i just set everything up a few days ago. Pro tools was working fine, i was able to open new sessions and everything..... Now when i open pro tools, I go to open a new session and it ask me what i want to save it as. I type the name i want it to be and then click save, but nothing happens. The name just stays where i typed it and nothing happens. Someone help me

When you load pro tools are you trying to create a new session from the menu that prompts at start-up? If so maybe just try closing that and the go to the drop down menu and create a new session from there?

Shouldn't matter but you never know.

I had the same problem. I'd try to open a new session and when I named it and pressed enter nothing would happen. But I realized the name of my song ended with a question mark! And apparently that's not allowed! I found this out when I got mad and just named the song a bunch of random letters like jsdjno;sdfn, and it magically opened. So then I went to rename the song with it's first original name, and this popped up "a file name can't contain any of the following characters \/:*?"<>|". Boom.
