Hi guys, I'm a noob that's just interested in casual use for now. But I've come across a problem I don't know how to fix.
I'm running Windows XP Professional and using my on-board sound from Asus A8N-SLI motherboard.
What I want is to have it recording just my microphone. However, in my Volume Control panel, the selection is locked on stereo mix. When I try to check the Select checkbox for Microphone, it does not become selected; stereo mix stays selected. This requires me to have microphone playback enabled, as it is essentially recording what is being output to my speakers.
If anyone can provide any insight, it'd be much appreciated. I hope it's ok that I posted in this subforum. To be quite honest, I was too lazy to try and figure out where it would be most appropriate.
