Hi, Forum readers!
I don't know if this is going to the right place, but I was just in the Tascam forum, so I hope this is right.
I'm relatively new to using a multi-track recorder, but I have read whatever I could find, and read my Owner's Manual, for my new Tascam DP-008 EX. It can record 8 separate tracks, and bounce them to one of the tracks of your choosing.
I'm an electronic tech, have studied audio somewhat. I play guitar, sing, have keyboards, and some percussion instr., along with a friend who's a drummer.
I think I can figure out all the level, EQ, source, input, etc. questions.
But what I cant see in the manual, is HOW TO ADJUST THE TRACKS FOR "START TIMING", TO SYNC THEM TOGETHER, IF ONE OR MORE IS "OFF".
Let's say I record some percussion, a drum beat. Then I record a bass guitar, or guitar track, with or without vocals. HOW DO YOU ENSURE THE BASS, OR GUITAR, OR VOCALS, IS PERFECTLY "LINED UP", WITH THE DRUMS?
Is the normal procedure to play back the drums, while playing guitar?
What if I can't make the drums loud enough to hear, over my amplifier?
Does anyone know if it's possible to play back one track while recording another, on the Tascam DP-008 EX? I HOPE it is.
I want to thank anyone, in advance, who can help me.
