I have 2 soundcard on my PC, SBLive and Audiophile2496.

I am only using the midiport of SBLive for my MIDI interface.

my current setup,
Keyboard->MIDI IN SBLive
JV1010<-MIDI OUT SBLive

I am thinking of getting a MIDI control surface for Sonar.

I am thinking of using Audiophile MIDI I/O for the control surface interface.

Is this possible? can I use the MIDI ports of my SBLive and Audiophile at the same time? anyone doing this right now?

If my past experiences of using various MIDI I/O at the same time under Cakewalk is any indication, it will likely work fine.

You have the connection sitting right there, why don't you hook it up and see?

Both your soundcard midi should work fine, all the midi inputs and outputs will be displayed in Sonar, all you have to do is route the channels with your synths. 2496 and SBlive go along very well, but what controll surface are you planning to get?

I was wondering the same.(obviously) Because control surfaces don't use midi to communicate. (Do they?)
I use a us-428 and it's usb... But it does offer 2 in/out midi ports.

Leeking nak pasang dua port ? Tak mengapa...

Pastikan tak ada resource conflict...

Cuba tengok Windows controll panel...

PS I : Hope you don't laugh at my attempt speakin' Malaysian... :D :D :D

PS II : "Beima" was good :) Have you worked on it any further ? I'd like to hear more if you have more songs... :)

I plan on getting a Peavey Studiomix. (MIDI interface)

Thanks for the info guys, I think it will work out well. At first I was doubtful whether I need to get a MIDI merger or MIDI interface....

James, terima kasih~! I'll update my NWR site with newer materials soon!
