I'm currently using cakewalk studio 5. Just got an email from cakewalk about upgrading to sonar producer for $99.00. I don't need the surround capabilities, but eq on each track would be nice and I've heard good things about the reverb plugs. Should I pony up the hundred bucks, or keep saving that money toward a better waves native bundle?

funny I was gonna ask the same question today. The V-Vocal plug and the per track eq stuff by themselves might be worth $100... Then there's the better dithering, too.

Yeah I kind of feel like for 100 bucks I can't pass it up, even though I might not use it that much.

The per-track EQ is a very handy feature. Once I got comfortable with it, I started using it all the time. Just think of how many fewer seconds of your mixing time will be wasted waiting for the EQ plugin to load and then be set right...

What's the retail price difference?

For a hundred bucks I'd say you're nuts not to get it...

Ciao,

Q.
