I cannot get my Roland JV1010 to take instructions from Cakewalk PA9. The Roland IS a listed instrument which I have loaded but, other than basic note information, I cannot get instrument performance info to read properly; i.e. using the symphony template, if I attempt to specify other than GM voices for the instruments, I get crazy stuff such as guitar for violins and orchestra hits in place of flutes etc. "What we have here is a failurein comunication." Any suggestions from the experts out there??Thanks

How do you have the 1010 interfaced with the computer? Are you using the serial port or a MIDI interface such as MIDIMAN? Also, check the computer configuration switch on the back. If you are simply daisychaining the 1010 with your keyboard controller I would offer that may be the problem. I had no luck whatsoever getting my Dell to recognize the 1010 when daisychained. I bought a MIDIMAN MIDIsport USB interface and my MIDI problems were solved. I would also suggest another look through the manual on program and patch changes and how they are controlled by sequencers. Hope this helps.
